I don't know how this works, but it's great. The only tool like this I have found which does not crash is Mazaika.
Rendering the mosaic takes time -- depending on the number of image sources and speed of your CPU. Can't wait till it's out of alpha.

I'd mention that the resulting jpg file was over 30MB which CVS couldn't handle but Costco did just fine, printed as a 20x30 poster that Macozaix be putting up at a party. Improved handling of very large images from sources.

Well done for iPhoto library selection but drammatic in stability. This software makes the world worse just by existing. Added a Delicious Library image source. Mosaics can now be as small as one tile by one tile. Mosaics made with small numbers of images now look better.
